Alright, I've spent a lot of time playing a Priest and I have discovered what could be described as the 3 most essential macros a Priest could ever have.
The first one I call the Ohshit button. It's a simple macro to cast Power Word: Shield on yourself without changing targets or anything of that sort.
/cast [target=player] Power Word: Shield
That's all there is to it.
The second is even more simple, but people tend not to use it for some reason. First make sure you have a decent focus frame addon or that your frames addon (such as x-perl) has the focus frame turned on and configured. Then use the macro:
/focus
It seems silly, but it's amazing. I use it for escort missions to keep my escort npc on screen at all times, but also for things like monitoring a raid boss while I heal, etc.
The third is a CC macro, but it's invaluable.
/focus [modifier:shift] [target=focus, dead] [target=focus, noexists] /cast [target=focus] Shackle Undead
This macro will cast Shackle Undead on your focus target. If you do not have a focus target it will also make your current target the focus. It doesn't, of course, work on targets which are not Undead, so it will just give you an error message. You may need some speedy focus changing if you kill one shackle target and need to switch to another, but that is easily fixed with the /focus macro. Please note that as of patch 2.1 Shackle Undead now has a chance to be resisted every 3 seconds, so if you're in a situation where a target absolutely needs to stay shacked, try to mash the button as often as possible. Two or three ticks probably wont hurt, but it just might be the tick the mob gets free, so why risk it?
